PPC 1st Energy Management Meetings by Magna Events won the Best Use of Technology Special Award for turning 5 years of energy-price data into a live generative artwork that made complex energy management easier to understand.
Held at the Athens Conservatoire, the conference explored the theme Mastering the Invisible: The Art of Energy Management. Its aim was to make PPC’s behind-the-scenes energy operations more understandable and relevant to employees across the organisation.
The experience combined a conference programme in the Ioannis Despotopoulos Amphitheatre with a data-driven generative installation in the Foyer of Arts. Based on 261 weekly energy-price data points covering five years, the artwork used AI-assisted analysis and generative coding to create continuously changing visuals.
The installation extended the event beyond the stage, helping participants connect complex subjects such as forecasting, market volatility and risk management with a memorable story. Technology was used not simply as a production tool, but as a new way of communicating business intelligence.
