Judit Polgár vs The World was recognised as the best B2C event and the best event overall, earning the ultimate Grand Prix Award for redefining participation on a global scale.
A GLOBAL GAME
The project set out to achieve something ambitious — not just to promote chess, but to bring it to life in a way that could reach and engage audiences worldwide. At its core was a simple yet powerful idea: one of the greatest chess players of all time competing against the world.
The event combined live production, digital platforms and influencer reach into a single hybrid experience. Broadcast from Budapest and Dubai, the format connected professional players, online communities and global audiences in real time.
Participants were not just spectators. Through a custom-built platform, they actively shaped the game by voting on moves, turning the event into a shared, collective experience. The result was a new kind of format — part competition, part broadcast, part global interaction.
With players joining from 77 countries and a world record confirmed, the project demonstrated the potential of hybrid events to unite audiences across borders. At the same time, it delivered strong visibility for its wider purpose — presenting Hungary and its pavilion on the global stage.
