The grand opening of United Illusions Virtual Production Studio earned the Best Use of Technology award in 2025. Visual Europe Group designed the event to merge cutting-edge virtual production, interactive storytelling, and live participation, setting a new standard for technology use across Europe.
The launch transformed an active construction site into a cinematic, high-tech environment where over 350 guests became part of the show. Attendees explored 100+ LED light structures, engaged in AR game zones, and starred in short cinematic sequences, including a Mars mission and an Aston Martin shoot. The event demonstrated the studio’s capabilities for both film and live events, showcasing real-time virtual production, live editing, and immersive narrative experiences in a way never done before. Coordination of lighting, AV systems, and interactive storytelling across multiple zones ensured a seamless, guest-centred journey.
Innovation was at the core of the event, combining permanent studio infrastructure with modular technology. AI-driven installations, holography, moving trusses, and a 600 sqm LED setup created a futuristic environment in which live-filmed sequences were edited and projected back within minutes. The execution required precise collaboration among 140 staff members, guaranteeing flawless timing, smooth transitions, and consistent storytelling across the venue.

The launch successfully positioned United Illusions as Europe’s most advanced virtual studio and sparked cross-industry interest. The event led to new bookings for both external productions and interactive tools, while strategic storytelling across press, B2B outreach, and digital channels amplified visibility. Sustainability was embedded throughout, with reused structural elements, energy-efficient lighting, local catering, and eco-conscious transport solutions, demonstrating that high-tech experiences can also be environmentally responsible.
