Micromobility Junction

Micromobility Junction, organised by Promotiva in collaboration with Zavarovalnica Triglav, was awarded Best in Corporate Social Responsibility for its innovative approach to promoting traffic safety and intergenerational learning, while achieving third place among Slovenian events.

The initiative addresses the rising accidents among e-scooter and e-bike users by creating a realistic urban “micro-junction,” where participants of all ages and abilities can safely practice and improve cohabitation skills on common traffic surfaces.

Innovation Meets Education

The micro-mobility junction is more than a training range—it is an engaging, small-scale pop-up city centre, complete with street lamps, benches, and themed corners. Participants, including children, adults, and people with disabilities, test e-scooters, e-bikes, and other mobility devices, learning safety skills in a gamified, hands-on environment. Special attention was given to materials and layout: recycled rubber was used for key areas, and colour-coded elements guided movement safely while maintaining a visually attractive space.

Over 500 high-quality observations have been collected, revealing behavioural patterns and safety gaps, including braking errors on e-scooters and helmet use rates. Generational cooperation was emphasised, with participants ranging from 4 to 71 years old. The vast majority (86%) learned safe riding practices, demonstrating that the event effectively raises awareness and builds real-world skills.

Sustainability was central to the event, with shared mobility solutions, zero-waste practices, reusable materials, and minimal car usage. Seasonal Slovenian refreshments were provided, and participants were encouraged to use non-motorised means of transport whenever possible. Micromobility Junction serves as a model for integrating safety, inclusivity, education, and environmental responsibility into a single impactful CSR initiative.
