The 6th Alpen Adria Dementia Congress, organised by Alert Agency for Mavida Group, won the Best Internal Training/Education Event at the Unicorn Awards 2025, uniting experts and caregivers to share knowledge and break the stigma around dementia.
Held in Villach, Austria, the congress attracted over 1,000 participants from five countries, representing a 67% growth compared to 2018. The event’s creative concept centred on the puzzle metaphor, symbolising memory, identity, and the fragments dementia may alter but never erase. Innovative formats included interdisciplinary lectures, workshops, and even stand-up comedy, blending medical science, ethics, psychology, and philosophy to create an engaging and multidimensional learning experience.
Meticulous planning, bilingual delivery, and hybrid-friendly infrastructure ensured smooth coordination of 23 speakers, simultaneous translation, and on-site logistics. Sustainability and accessibility were integral, with reusable materials, local catering, eco-certified print, and promotion of public transport. Strategic communication and media outreach boosted awareness by 80%, fostering professional collaboration and public dialogue on dementia.
