KLANGLICHT won the Non-Profit Event subcategory, transforming Graz into Austria’s largest light and sound festival and attracting over 100,000 visitors. For three days, the city came alive with immersive installations, music, and artistic experiences.
THE CITY AS THE CANVAS
The festival highlighted regional and international artists while giving students and young creatives a platform to present their work. Fifteen installations offered diverse experiences, blending innovation, creativity, and storytelling. Visitors were guided through a curated journey, discovering art, history, and culture in every corner of the city.
Sustainability and inclusivity were key to the festival’s design. Renewable energy powered the installations, street lighting was minimised, and public transport was encouraged. Most installations were free and barrier-free, and initiatives like the Culture Pass enabled access for those in financial need. Reusable materials, eco-certified prints, and careful planning further reduced environmental impact, making KLANGLICHT an inspiring, responsible, and unforgettable cultural experience.
